Class of 2020

Hannah Almos has been in Tri-M for 3 years. She is a member of the marching band, symphonic band, pit orchestra, and pep band. She has performed with the ILMEA All-District Band, All-District Orchestra, Bi-State Band, All-State Honors Band, All-State Band, and All-State Orchestra. Hannah has earned "Superior" ratings on all solos performed at Solo and Ensemble for the past 4 years, in addition to earning Best of Day awads for the past 3 years.

Hannah plans to major in biology and minor in music performance at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.

Andrew Billhartz has been a member of Tri-M for 2 years. He has played in marching band, pep band, jazz band, concert band, and symphonic band at EHS.

​

Andrew will attend the University of Iowa to major in geographical information systems and informatics.

Jacquelin Anderson became a member of Tri-M her senior year. She is a member of the choir here at EHS.

 

Next year, Jacquelin will be attending Millikin University with a major in education. She will also be playing basketball for the university.

Marie Grimm became a member of Tri-M her senior year. She is a member of the symphonic band and clarinet choir at EHS. She performed with the clarinet choir for solo and ensemble, and also did a solo.

​

Marie plans to double major in art education and anthropology.

Abby Loftus has been in Tri-M for 3 years and is the current choir representative. She sings in the chamber choir and the "Bel Canto" female a cappella group at school. She has performed with both the All-District and All-State choirs, in addition to participating in solo and ensemble, where she earned firsts in her ensemble performances. 

​

After high school, she will be attending Western Kentucky University perusing a business major and a minor in Spanish.

Caleb Kelahan has been in Tri-M for three years, and is the current vice president. He is in the chamber choir and the "Acafellaz" male a cappella group. He has participated in Solo & Ensemble and the All-District choir sophomore through senior year, and performed at All-State both junior and senior Year.

​

Caleb plans to pursue a degree in musical theatre.

Colleen McCracken has been a member of Tri-M all four years, and is the current president. She is principal flute in the symphonic band, a placement that she has held since freshman year, and she joined choir her senior year. She won the Young People's Symphonic Orchestra concerto competition in 2018, and became principal flute in the orchestra the following year.  Colleen has participated in state and bi-state festivals, the Flute Society of St. Louis Flute Choir, the SIUe Flute Choir, and the St. Louis Youth Wind Ensemble. She is also a very proud member of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra. Last year, she was selected for the National Flute Association High School Flute Choir, a group with which she performed at the National Flute Association Convention. She also earned second chair in the ILMEA All-State Honors Orchestra, ranking her second in the state of Illinois. Recently, Colleen won second place in the Flute Society of St. Louis High School Solo Competition.   

 

Colleen will be attending the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver where she will major in flute performance.

Elizabeth Thompson joined Tri-M her senior year. She plays the bass clarinet in symphonic band. She has played in both the All-District band and the All-State Honor Band.

McKenna Vereeke has been in Tri-M for three years. She is in the Symphonic Orchestra at EHS. She has competed in solo and ensemble contest since middle school and has won several first awards for both solos and duets. She also won first place for the John Kay and Kendall Concerto Competition at SIUE in the Intermediate Division in 2018. went to All District Junior and Senior year.

 

In the future, McKenna plans on attending University of Illinois in Springfield to major in psychology and minor in music performance for violin. Also, as a candidate for Miss Illinois and other pageants she plans on raising awareness about her platform; I AM: Incorporate the Arts and Music in schools across the state.
